What an amazing day organised by Miss Morris (AKA Giddy Bridge). Each class has gone poetry mad!!!
Featuring the extremely well known and published author.........FRANCESCA KAY, who has written poetry in anthologies called ‘Look Out’ and ‘One Busy Book’, undertook a poetry workshop with each class.
The famous children's author is wondering whether she really is in St. Nicholas or has she come to HOGWARTS by mistake!!! Don't worry Franchesca they aren't all bad....or are they? by Shellie May Welcome to HOGWARTS! CHILDREN'S WORLD BOOK DAY REPORTS World book day was really fun aswell as full of poems Francessca kay came in to do some creative writing with us she was really funny and i thought she should of been a childrens stand up comidian!!! by Hazza Scanlan Today we had a famous poet visit us in school, she was called Francesca Kay. Thank you Mrs Morris for organising World Book Day and for Francesca Kay to come and visit, I had the best day. Thank You. by Thomas Harvey On Thursday, it was the one and only" WORLD BOOK DAY!!! It's among my favourite days, because non-stop reading. OH YEAH!! A poet called FRANCESSCA KAY came in and did some poetry with us! She told us to do a poem about dissapearing sock and taught us the WORM SONG! I love eating mud, She is crazy, funnt and has an exelent sense of humor. I really enjoyed myself and can't wait until the next Writes Squad (coming up later this month might I add )! by English Boy by Cerys Andrews World book day was phenomenal. We made book covers, our own poem called "Where are our socks gone". I thought she was really funny, I went upto her at the end of our session and said "I think you could be a stand up comic" and she said "I'd rather be a sit down comic".

today was world book day and FRANCESCA KAY came in she was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo funny we wrote poem about My Sock Has Gone and we all had a hat on even francesca had one on she told us a sory were she blew her nose in a sock and that was in PUBLIC we all cringed it was funny p.s mr d you more funny than francesca kay is and more GREAT bye

today we had world book day it was fun becuase francesca Kay came in shes VERY FUNNY just like you mr.d :) and she taught us a worm song it goes like this

It was really fun today. We made our own hats to wear when Francessca Kay came in, Francessca Kay was really funny and I learnt properly what a verb is we wrote our own verb poems then sang the worm song she made up it was wicked. We also made our own book jackets about our favourite poem book that we brought in. Thanks Miss. Morris and Francessca Kay for coming in. C U 2MORROW.
World book day was amazing we all had loads of fun Francessa kay came in to school she was really funny when she came in are class we made up poems starting with verbs the poem was called !!where's my sock!!

On world book day franchessca kay come in to school she told us a poem called " The Strong Man,she leart us it as a song and then she showed us the actions to it.but then i had to go so i don`t the rest of the stuff class 3 had to do with franchessca kay.

MORE CHILDREN'S WORLD BOOK DAY REPORTS On Thursday the 5th St. Nicholas had their World Book Day we made these special thinking hats for when Franchessca Kay come to Class 4 when she did it was so funny she just made everyone laugh then we wrote poems called My Sock Has Gone!!! It was really fun then at the end of the session we sung the amazing worm song. I loved the whole day it was really fun And thank you Miss. CLASS 4 MOSAIC REPORTS On Monday the first day back from half term which was the 23rd of Feb a guy came in to do our mosaics. We all designed them before half term so they were ready to be done what we did was we had a flat peice of clay and we had to lay the design we did on it for exsample mine was Winnie the pooh and I had to place it on so it all fited unluckily mine didn't fit so we took off my name so I did my dots around my Pooh bear so it went through onto the clay we had. then because we never had much time we just joined all th edots we had together to make our picture onto the clay then they will be taken back to the studio and sorted out so any sharp edges on our clay will be sorted and because I couldn't put my name on it the guy said he will get someone to put it on with these shapes that he had for us. So thank you teachers for aranging this mega fun activity Written by Shellie May On Monday 23rd February, a man came in to do mosaics with us. I really enjoyed doing the dots and then joining then together. I cant wait untill the next step which is ... Painting them. Written by Beautiful Jordan On monday 23rd this man come in to do ower mosaics.we had ower pictures we had drawn and we had a long sharp pin and we had to poke hols in the picture at least 1cm apart and as we poked holes in the picture there was clay under neath it ans mine was a tiger shap and we all had a pen and we had to join the dots up like a dot to dot.and the man is taking them all back to his work shop and then he is going to put them in the cilm with will take a few weeks he said.and then it will come out as hard as a rock and then he will come back and we will paint it and then take it home.the lesson with him was really fun i enjoyed myself and im sure everyone else did. CLASS 4 MOSAIC REPORTS Yesterday a man came in for us to make our own mosaics. What we done is we put them on a block of clay then with a special pin prick we pressed it then we taken the paper off and joined the dots with a pen. It was really fun. My picture was the science club badge that we got, with my name at the side. Some people done winnie the pooh characters that were cool. HE CAME INTO ST.NICOLAS TO DO MOSAICS WITH EVRY CLASS. TO START HE GAVE US SOME CLAY THEN HE GAVE US A POTTERS TOOL OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND WE USED THAT TO POKE HOLES ROUND THE OUTSIDE OF OUR DESIGNS (WHICH WE PUT ON TOP OF OUR CLAY) WHICH WE DID BEFORE THE HALFTERM WHEN WE WERE DONE PUTTING HOLES THROUGH OUR DESIGN WE HAD TO TAKE OF THE DESIGN
AND GET A PEN TO GO ROUND THE HOLES LIKE DOT TO DOT WHEN YOU ARE DONE DOING ALL THAT THEY TAKE IT BACK TO THE WORKSHOP TO DO SOME WORKING ON IT E.G CUTTING OF ALL THE SHARP ENDS EXCETRA EXCETRA THANYOU FOR ORGANISING THIS AMAZING LESSON

REPORT ON GIANT MOSAIC
TODAY I GOT CHOSEN TO THE SCHOOLS GIANT MOSAIC WITCH IS GOING IN THE SCHOOL BY THE RECEPTION. I ENJOYED THE WHOLE DAY. WE DID A BIG PICTURE READY FOR THE CLEY, WITCH LOOKED REALLY COOL AT THE END. WE ALSO DID PORTARATES TO GO ON THE MOSAIC.

On Monday the 9th 9 off us got chosen to do the schools giant mosaic it was really fun especially drawing all of the pictures to go on the plan. it turned out to be really good we held it up against the window as it was that type of material. It was really fun Thank you for choosing me.

On Thursday the 9th of March, Mr. Akins came in again to do the BIG mosaic. I was lucky, as I was one of the 9 ( 7 in class 4, 2 in class 3 ) to get chosen. I had a fantastic day, and my favourite part was joint. I liked doing the portraits and enjoyed flattening the clay alongsid Chloe V-W. At first I was totally confused
( there, I admitted it! ) as how the others traced their pictures line for line, but imagine my utter bewilderment when the black and blue carbon paper traced my daffodil! I spent 15 seconds examining the paper side and side, trying to come up with some sort of conclusion about how it traced, but couldn't, so I coloured my daffodil. I came up with a red banner saying 'Achieving Potential Together' in yellow or blue writing. I'd better get going, as my mother will come up and second now and usher me of to bed. Overall I would rate the day 10/10 or *****.

On March 6th 9 children had to do a masive mosaic fo the entrance of the school.We had to draw portraits of each other and trace them on the tracing paper. Then we had to draw some animals that we have had in the school.After we had all done that i wrote WELCOME with stencils and Jasmine wrote CROESO with stencils at the bottom.It was really fun and we had NO work all day.I had a great day!!!

By Livvy Haines It was REALLY, REALLY fun on Monday 30th March a man called Barry came in and dia mosaics with us he actually came in on the first Monday after the half term in the winter but he came back yesterday for the others to paint their's so he said I could make mine now so i did. I did Whinnie the Pooh and Piglet and the picture was so cute. This is what we had to do first of all you have to cut a bit of the clay off with this peice of string, then we had to squash it, after that we had to place the picture on the clay get this sharp pointy thing and poke holes on the lines, then we took the paper off and join the dots with a pen when you had done that you would be finished. Thank you

Mosaic On Monday I painted my mosaic the man said it was brilliant! i was painting a dragon with babies! it was really fun i enjoyed it so much !! the paint we used will turn out shiny. when you put the paint on your hard clay it was a different colour but when it goes into the cilm it will turn out the wright colour because when i used blue the pain was grey !!! when the paint was on the clay it dried in two seconds WOW !!!! i realy enjoyed it,it was amazing lets hope he comes and does another mosaic again with us.it was realllllllllllllllly fun !!!!!!!!!! My (Jolie) Mosaic picture was of a crocodile! I had fun painting it. The next time Barry(mosaic man) comes in our mosaic tiles will be glazed, which makes them all shing and turns them into glass!
I really enjoyed painting the mosaic! My picture was of a Love heart!!!!!! I'd love to do them again one day!!!

On Monday, Mr.Aikins came in again to paint our mosaics with us. It was really fun! First, we had to get seated, then we had our mosaics passed to us, and Mr.Aikins explained the paints we were about to use were no ORDINARY paints, they were especially designed to go on mosaics. Some colours were a bit confusing, because the red looked pink, the pink looked red, and the black looked a bit like grey. We had to get as much as possible on our brushes and slap it on. I had a full frame because apparantley, mine blew up in the kilm! I had to paint Songebob. Mr.Aikins asked us to paint our backround tiles in a myriad of colours, but as Spongie lives in the ocean, Bikini Bottom to be exact, I asked Mr.Aikins if I could paint my backround in plain blue. He said it was O.K, so I did. Overall I really enjoyed the day. THANK YOU SO MUCH WHOEVER ORGANISED THE DAY!!!!!!!!!! by Luke 'Liverpool' Williams

GIANT MOSAIC
Heres my report about the giant mosaic!!!
Today some poeple who drew the mosaic for the school entrance!! The first group was Me livvy Haines, Shellie May and Danielle Clifton! We started to paint the mosaic with the glaz paint!! I was having loads of fun!! I started painting the laidie bird and when I finished that i moved on to my porterate of Jasmine Stevens (my sister)
