Over the years the School Council have successfully organised many events.  They have been fun and enjoyable for the children, whilst also raising much needy funds for some very worthy causes.  Below is a picture of some of the councillors posing with the Olympic torch after the - ST. NICHOLAS MINI-OLMPICS raising money for the NSPCC

ST. NICHOLAS MINI-OLYMPICS

ST. NICHOLAS SCHOOL COUNCILLORS

Meet the hard working team that helped this wonderful day happen.

Following a whole school assembly by Linda Killick, who highlighted issues that affected children’s health and well-being, and putting a full stop to bullying, the school council devised a Mini-Olympics in aid of the NSPCC

The day took the format of the actual Olympics.  It started with a fantastic opening ceremony, with a rhythmic dance routine of which even the Russians would have been proud.  This was followed with many fun activities that allowed the children to display their sporting talents.  The emphasis was on having fun and taking part, rather than winning, encapsulating the first line of the Olympic creed, “The important part of the Olympic games is not winning but taking part!”

The closing ceremony included singing by a group of girls and the Welsh National Anthem.

The children have made some comments about their favourite part of the day.  Sit back, relax and enjoy!
