THE PE CURRICULUM AT ST. NICHOLAS
Physical Education is a very important part of a child's development at St. Nicholas C/W Primary School. The school follows the Vale approved scheme written by a former advisor and adapted for our school. Through this the children have many opportunities to channel their energies and stimulate their imagination by participating in a range of activities. They can also develop and refine newly acquired skills through small sided and competitive games. This does wonders for their self-esteem and confidence.
During gymnastic units of work the children have opportunities to develop their skills on a variety of levels, heights and angles. Using apparatus can increase the children's agility, strength and confidence, as demonstrated in the picture below. Additionally children with extra skills are encouraged to perform during school celebration assemblies and school productions and musical evenings

Dance sessions allow the children to develop their creative skills as well as learning traditional steps to many Welsh folk dances.
At St. Nicholas C/W Primary School, we are extremely fortunate to have a large playground area and enormous sports field
The home of many sporting matches for the teams of St. Nicholas C/W Primary

These areas are used extensively when taking physical education outdoors for activities such as football rugby, netball, hockey, kwik cricket, rounders and athletics. This large space is also used as an important part of the learning environment, through a variety of outdoor and adventurous tasks.
Our extra-curricular provision is excellent, with many clubs offered for the Junior children. Additionally, Mr. Rob Copeland from Vale Karate and ???? Sports offor opportunities for the Infant children to participate in clubs
