VIEW THE CURRICULUM
HORRIBLE HISTORY Civil War AHOY! Are you a budding Samuel Pepys The children will continue to learn about life under the Stuarts for the Roundheads, Cavillers, Charles I , Thomas Farynor and many more. CLICK HERE for Class 4 Stuart Research
ENGLISH Comprehension of reading and writing for different audiences in many different styles. The children will produce wonderful creative writing including stories, interviews and, brochures, while also completing more formal pieces including persuasive letters and newspaper reports. MATHS Wow what a busy term ahead, although many of these concepts will be covered during past SAT papers. Class 4 will also roll their maths games (created in the Spring Term) to other classes. . Mrs Elaine Brown from Cowbridge Comprehensive will be visiting to undertake an investigation with the children. |

SCIENCE The Earth and Beyond Materials (mixing and separating) Much of this work will be completed through practical investigations. I.C.T.skills will be employed to explore data patterns.
WELSH Fy fi Hun (Myself) - Cymru am byth!!! The children willcomplete this Transition Booklet in preparation for Cowbridge, ably assisted by the returning Menna Jones.
GEOGRAPHY Travelling in Eurpoe It is important to learn about the various traditions and cultures of European countries, as well as ours in Britain. Bangalore Here the children will be comparing and contrasting their locality with that of Bangalore's
RE Exploring Other Faiths The children will be learning about the core beliefs and treaditions behind the Judaism |

SPORTING EXTRAVOGANZA
Another GREAT sporting year at St. Nicholas, including the welcome addition of Sporting All Stars with Coach Adrian.
OVer 90% of the children in Class 4 play for at least ONE school team - WOW what enthusiasm!

I.C.T. skills learned: Word Processing, Interrogating Data Bases, inserting data fields and formulas into Excel Spreadsheets, Internet Research and digital video photography
Year 6 will leave this year extremely I.T. Capable and ready fro the challenges Cowbridge throws at them!! |

CLASS 4 EVENTS DURING THE AUTUMN TERM
Class 4 are extremely lucky to have so many extra curricular activities organised for them. They include:
* Class trip to The National Waterways Museum - Sept 30th 2009 * We are the Champions - Sporting events (October) * 2 Tag-Rubgy Tounaments (one each half term) every Friday afternoon *Careers Wales Boat Trip on Cardiff Bay - October * Trip to the Theatre to see ?????? - December 14th

CLASS TRIPS Another interesting trip planned this term to the National Waterways Museum at Gloucester Docks, to study life under the Victorians. This will be undertaken with Class 3
